PIP HP assessor's report was created by furrypusscat
Hello Mods.
I received my phone assessors report on Monday which showed many factual inaccuracies. The assessor either had not read all the accompanying evidence or decided to make things up as she went along. The descriptors she had selected, some I agreed with others I would dispute. The totals would suggest standard rate for both, 11 for care and 10 for mobility with a 3 year review.
I wrote a letter to DWP pointing out the factual errors and also putting my views forward why I should meet the higher descriptors including the Managing medication & therapy’, as she had marked me as not needing assistance where I clearly do and that would be the 1 point I needed to gain the higher award for care. I also asked if they would consider a ‘light touch’ review given that I will be 70 in December and felt the 3 year review was inappropriate.
I sent the letter guaranteed delivery on Tuesday. I also phoned DWP to alert them that a letter was in the post and could they delay any decision until they were in receipt of it. The very nice gentleman put a note on the file requesting this stating that my claim hadn’t been looked at yet.
The letter did arrive the next morning. So now it is a case of wait and see.

Thank you BIS. The helpful gentleman at DWP suggested it could be July before I hear anything from them with a slim possibility of an earlier date. This was the at the Wolverhampton Office where I know there are backlogs. I will update when I next hear. Incidentally I was on middle rate care and high rate mobility on DLA. Thank you all for the good advice and time you give.
