Obtaining a copy of telephone assesment report was created by Tracywoods
Hi,
I had my telephone assessment last Thursday morning at 10, so over a week ago now. I think I recall previously reading on here that you are able to request a copy of the report from this to be sent to you after 48 hours from the appointment and a copy should be sent out within a week of requesting it. I phoned the dwp at beginning of this week and was told they’d not got it back yet, apparently it would goto their mail handling centre first but it hadn’t even been scanned in there by then. I requested if they could put a note on the file requesting a copy to be sent out to me as soon as they have it, they said the would but was told that as they may not know when it is back as it is the mail handling centre who would receive it first and scan it in I would be better off calling in later in the week to request it to be sent. I called them again yesterday afternoon, which was a week since the appointment and apparently they’ve still not got it. Should it be taking t no a long? Is this normal? Also my telephone assesment took over 2 hours, not sure if either of these things are good or bad signs or make no difference at all?
Thanks

Hi Tracy
I don't know whether things are different because of the lockdown - but assessors normally load up the report electronically onto the system. It's not sent by post and scanned in - so I'm not sure why you're being told this. That's why you can normally request it after 48 hrs - because that's the time the assessor has to upload it. I would ring and ask why it is not back already as the 48 hour deadline is set by them and see what they say. If it still isn't there, request a call-back from a supervisor. I don't believe you're being told the correct story. If they are now giving assessors more time - then they should say so.
It's difficult to comment on the length of your assessment. It certainly is on the long side - but I have known others to have ones. There's little point in trying to speculate why or trying to guess whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. You need to see that report.
