Hi,
We all know the lengths that the dwp will go to as far as "finding you out" is concerned. However, how far do they go in verifying that their assessment was correct. For example, secretly observing a claimant over a set number of days to see if they really cannot walk more than a few steps, therefore qualifying for full mobility. And then secretly observing that a claimant really does not walk more than a few steps, even though they found against the claimant, and only awarded low mobility, would they admit to a mistake and reinstate their full mobility?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Mike
The DWP only carries out covet observations if it is part of a fraud investigation. The only other observations are made by assessors looking out of windows when people arrive at an assessment center or briefly observing someone in a waiting room. No observations are carried out after an assessment.

A little sideways from claiming etc, but you may be interested in the Disability News Service's reports. Good wishes, Denby
