pip changes letter was created by debmarc
today i recieved letter from dwp talking about changes in pip law
they say the main health conditions they have for me on the system indicatemy pip claim are not affected by these changes
changes are to do with how overwhelming psychological distress is considered when assesing someones ability to plan and follow a journey
they then go on to say if i think my pip claim is affected ive to contact them
has anyone else had this letter recently?

has anyone had positive results from this?
will contacting them bring on a telephone assesment?

Hi Debbie

I know three people who were told their claim had been upgraded naturally, but that was some time ago. I only know of one person who was told they weren't eligible and when challenged had the decision overturned.

Hi Debbie,

I challenged this decision, I received a no change letter October 2019. I was originally awarded 4 points for needing prompting to undertake a journey, my MR was unsuccessful so I lodged an appeal at the beginning of the year.
Before it got to appeal I received a phone call from a Decision Maker offering me 10 points- standard mobility.
I had submitted no new evidence, a sentence in my GP's letter which was sent with my original PIP claim in 2017 was quoted as the reason they could now offer me the increased award.
So it is possible to challenge the decision and have a successful outcome but you may need to hold your nerve and take it to the appeal stage.
You could start by drawing to their attention any evidence that supports why you should be eligible in an MR and see if that works. Health permitting I feel it is most certainly worth a try.
Good luck to you
