ESA and PIP review forms was created by sealion
HI i am looking for some advice. I am due to have a surgery sometime at the beginning of 2021 and i understand that i have to inform the DWP when I'm admitted and discharged. But the concern i have is I'm due for both ESA and PIP reviews at the beginning of next year and wondered what to do if the review forms turn up while I'm still in hospital as i wont be able to fill them in and get them sent back. What would i have to do if my review forms do arrive while I'm in hospital still? Thanks

Being in hospital would be Good Cause for not returning a form so don't worry.

Thank you for the reply. Could I also ask do you know roughly when the send out a ESA50 for review? I've been told different timescales from 3-4 months but also 6weeks before your award ends . I understand that they can be sent at any point but hoping to get a rough idea. I was awarded 18mths in sept 2019. Thanks again

Hi Sealion

I'm sorry, but it's impossible to tell you when they might send out your review forms because it's such an individual thing at the moment - and we don't know how much of a backlog they have on the different benefits. PIP have been coming 6 - 8 months before the end date of an award. ESA 4 - 6. But don't quote me. In this changing environment it is impossible to be certain.
