I phoned Dwp today,to be told that my pip review was sent to IAS nine days ago. .Is it still the case that if the dwp caseworker RECEIVES IT FIRST AND IF THERE IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE IT DOESNT GET PASSED ONTO IAS as it can be done on paper.?If so,I feel a bit despondant,or is that no longer the case?Apologies for capitals and thankyou.
Yes, a DWP Case Manager should review a claimant's file before they send it on to the Assessment Provider, they can even make a Decision before referring it but this is rare and we have not seen any significant increase in cases during the pandemic.
Remember, the DWP staff are not medically trained so any Decision they make before referral must be pretty obvious.
