telephoning DWP PIP people was created by morna
I hope I'm posting in the correct place.
I've been 'phoning the PIP people over the last few days. Today, directly after I enter all the info being asked of me, the phone line goes dead. This has happened three times today. Any point in keeping repeating that?
Have almost finished my MR and am pleased with it. I sent another letter by Next Day Delivery yesterday, asking again for copy of HP's report. I'm actually wondering if I should simply send off my MR when complete, because I've covered everything that could have possibly been brought up by his report anyway. Thanks for any opinions.

Hi Morna
You don't want to miss the deadline for returning you MR, but in my view the assessment report is key, otherwise you have no clear idea what the assessor has said or what you are specifically fighting against. It's easy to think you have covered all bases and perhaps you have, but as it stands you don't know what the assessor said - and in my experience, the decision letter doesn't tell you enough. I would be asking for an extension to returning the MR (which even if it is given, you ask for it in writing and you also send off a letter confirming the conversation you held) or I would send in the MR - with a proviso that when the assessment report arrives you might want to amend your MR accordingly (which they won't like - but it stands you in better stead if you later have reason to complain if the decision does not go in your favour.

I've already asked for an extension for the MR, and for a copy of the report twice, by reg. mail. I've spent months educating myself on here, and everywhere else I could find info on PIP, and my disabilities. I find it hard to trust them, because they took 4 points from me when I missed my first MR. I'm trying to cover a eventualities here. I also have the option of sitting and waiting, and know it could be a long wait. From their point of view, I am someone who was turned down for PIP in 2015 because I was too ill to fight their decision. Awarded in 2018, but missed extension by one day. Now, much better because not depressed at the moment, but it's not hte depressive aspect of my illnesses that makes life so difficult for me - it's my ADHD. I've never had cognitive evidence in the past, and just this past few days I've finally understood why I'm so disadvantaged; it's my working memory that doesn't work:) Just mentioning here incase there are other people with ADHD struggling. I'm 63 and the penny has finally dropped! The other interesting thing is that because I'm not depressed (after 38 years of being so) I can see and feel all my other problems so much more clearly. Sorry if I shouldn't post this stuff. End of, I promise;)

Just to say that the HP's report arrived this morning. Nothing different from what I expected; clearly insufflcient knowledge of either ADHD, or Cyclothymia, but to be fair, both are complex conditions. Gave me no points at all! Not even for forgetting to take my meds every day. Anyway, I'm getting used to inaccurate HP reports and am not letting it bother me. So relieved, and have a week to get my MR in. Thanks folks, for the advice.
