Rather quick Tribunal hearing date was created by Tuliptrees
Should I be feeling even more anxious than I would normally? My Appeal was lodged 29 November 2020 and my telephone hearing date is 1 February 2021. Is this too quick?

Hello Margo,
No need to worry at all! I have recently seen a number of appeals come through quickly, I assume thanks to Covid and all the telephone hearings. I guess there has to be a positive lining to the dreaded virus somewhere!
Just take your time to prepare for your hearing. I would recommend looking again at the PIP resources on this site
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip
Look at the reasons for which you can be awarded PIP points and make a list of why you think you should be awarded them. If possible think of examples, so for example, if you need to be encouraged to prepare meals, can you give an example of what happens when you don't receive this encouragement.
I then turn those reasons / examples into a neat check list, and tick the off the points as they are covered during the appeal hearing. This way you can make sure that you have told the panel everything which it is important for you to make sure they know. Don't be nervous of saying at the end something along the lines of 'Can I just say when I don't receive the help I need with XXX then YYY happens'.
I hope it goes well for you, and please be assured there is no extra reason for anxiety! (I would never pretend it is not an anxious occurrence.)
