Transferring from ESA to State Pension was created by Salford Silver Surfer
I am my brother's Carer and Nominee for nearly 30 years His Benefits are paid to me has he has severe learning difficulties . He has been invited to apply for his State Pension and his Bank account is required . My brother has never had his own Bank Account . The DWP recognise me as his Nominee and Carer of long standing . As , I think , State Pension replaces ESA , can I just offer them my Account Number. I don't know why - but I expect things to be complicated .

Hi Bro 67

I would give them a call, remember that the State Pension is in a different department than ESA, it comes under the Pension Service and therefore would not be aware of your involvement.

You can contact the Pension Service: 0800 731 7898.

Your brother may also be entitled to claim Pension Credit depending on his circumstances
