Hi All I forgot to mention that I recorded the majority of the assessment? Can I mention this to the DWP when I reply to them or am I best to leave this out? The assessor also said that because I have a full drivers license it shows I have adequate concentration and no significant cognitive impairment? I haven’t driven since Feb/March 2020? I went to see my neurologist last Friday and she told me I am suffering from chronic migraine syndrome although I have been suffering from this since 2019 it was not diagnosed until last Friday can I include this in my letter to the DWP please?

Hello Sue,
No reason not to mention that you recorded the call, but it would be of even more help if you included transcriptions of the essential parts to which you wish to draw the DWP's attention.
Someone's possession of driver's license seems to be linked to all sorts of abilities, at least in some assessor's minds. You however know your reality, and this is your opportunity to explain why you have the problems you do and why these are not disproven by the fact that you have a license.
As to your chronic migraine syndrome, if you described the symptoms on your original application, then yes you can inform the DWP that you have now had a formal diagnosis, making it clear that the condition is not new, only the diagnosis. If you did not mention the symptoms when you completed the initial form then they are within their rights to ignore it and you have to start the whole process again since there has been a change of circumstances. Just be aware that if you do decide to go down this route any award will only be backdated to the start of your new claim, not the original one.
I hope this helps

Hi All I completed a mandatory reconsideration five weeks ago and had a call today from DWP asking me a question and then they said they would look into how they could support me best? They said they will reply to my mandatory reconsideration by this Friday? Does this sound right to you I was awarded low rate for both components in February this year?
Cheers

Hi Sue
It sounds like a legitimate call - I have heard of a couple of other people receiving such calls and being asked a couple of questions. You can always ring them back if you're concerned that it wasn't.
