PIP not able complete form. 2 GP letters sent was created by angie2
I remain terrified and fearful. I am physically, and mentally very unwell. Was told PIP would stop 13 december 2020. Would have to do new form. By time form came I had tried to commit suicide, my husband had left me. Had no available help to complete form. Or ability to do it. GP sent two letters to this effect. Asking they find some other way of assessing.
Urging them to let me know whats decided.
To date I have received No notification. Am shielding. One day last week plucked up courage to phone PIP in terror. I still couldnt complete form and heard nothing.
I was informed it had been put through to assessors for telephone assesment. I questioned how this could be, as they still dont have my completed how disability form affects me.
I was informed, they were accepting I couldnt get any help to complete form. Therefore had been put through for assessment and I should here in 2 or 3 months.
It doesnt sound right.??
Any advice or anything similar happened to others?
Thanks

Hi Thora
I know it's terribly difficult, but your GP told them that you could not fill in the forms and they have acted on it. In time you will get a decision. What else do you want them to do? They are going to make a decision using past information they have on you, or any recent information from your GP. Try not put it aside until you get your decision letter. It's unusual for them to do this. I do know of two other people that this has happened to, because the risk to their health was too great.

Very scared and anxious as had nothing in writing from them whatsoever!
Im now worrying how can I do telephone assessment without support too. I feel in a catch 22 situation. Its not having anything in writing from them which is most anxiety provoking, not helping my mental state.

Hello thora,
I am so sorry to hear about the position you have found yourself in. I just wanted to add a couple of points.
I know this might be difficult, but if you find yourself struggling with the assessment do tell the assessor, including if you need a break. Remember they cannot see you body language when you are on the phone so might not be able to tell how hard you are finding it.
The other thing is a word of encouragement. It is quite unusual for the DWP to do this, so your GP must have written a very supportive letter, and that has to be good news for you.
Please do let us know how it goes,
Catherine
