Hi Alex, I just want to send my sympathy and encouragement, having had to deal with an assessment report that lied about what our adult daughter can do, omitted important things and twisted others. We got her her Enhanced on both in the end. So please don't ever give up and give in to their mean behaviour, we are all with you here to give you strength.

The moving around activity also includes the thing that most of us forget which is standing. The definition of standing is “to stand upright with at least one biological foot on the ground with or without suitable aids and appliances”. You are supposed to stand and move.
If you have balance issues or use a stick/crutches/walker you need to get yourself sorted with them and pointed in the right direction. I would argue that the activity starts on entering a room. I always look at the seats available to see if they are suitable for me. Are they too high/low, arms/no arms? Am I going to be waiting for any length of time so is it worth the pain to sit down and have to get up again?
When I was completing my PIP2, I got my family to make notes on how I got out of different types of seats. How long it took me to get myself ready to walk. What I did if the seat had no arms. Arranging my crutches to enable me to rise which is a problem for me as I have arthritic hands. I went into great depth about the issues I have in getting out of a seat. I went from 0 to 12 (Enhanced) after an MR and Appeal (the DWP increased my award before it went to Tribunal).

Hi Alex,
You asked in your previous post how do I explain about your walking etc and whether you go to the park....just write what you explained on here! As for the assumption about walking distances- argue this - explain that you can not go more than eg 20m and say why. The assessor has only offered an opinion, which seems to be wrong. It is simply a case of evidence. I know DWP say they have the recent consultant's report - send it again and say something like 'I enclose a copy of Dr X's report which shows [brief description] although this has been sent in previously, it has clearly been ignored, hence I have re-sent this, for you to take into full consideration.'
Dixip also makes a very valid point about standing and moving.
Again, good luck with your PIP. And don't give up!
