PIP - tip on filling in the ghastly form was created by LizziLilli
I was amazed that PIP couldn't be completed online. There is no way my handwriting would be legible due to the fatigue, sickness and mental fog that filling it in by hand would create. So my partner and I typed my answers to each section on a Word document on my laptop. After saving we printed out each answer and then physically cut the paragraphs out and stuck them onto the form using Pritt stick. It took forever but it was neat, clear to read and - before printing- I could check that the answers were exactly as I wanted them to be. We then scanned each page so that I had an exact copy. It all took forever and I had to stop for days at a time because emotionally the questions hit many a raw nerve, plus I was exhausted. In my answers I dutifully kept to the advice on here and am soooo relieved to say I was granted PIP!!! With no phone call even. (But I did have a ton of medic reports too.) This way of doing it may be helpful to others of you. I hope so.

Hello Elizabeth and welcome to the forum.

In case you did not know your full name seems to be showing. If you would like to change that there are instructions here.

My full name is showing, how can I stop it.

I am really pleased all your hard work paid off!

Another way of doing what you did is to type up all the answers in a document with a clear heading to each answer and then include the document with the form. You just need to make sure that each additional piece of paper has your NI number on it and you put something in the box on the form saying that the answer is on a separate sheet. (Comes to the same thing, but saves having to get the scissors and glue out.)

I fully agree with you about the process hitting raw nerves, I hate the form and find the whole thing so negative. It is something, I can, and do, rant on about for far too long given half a chance. I am pleased that you had your partner to support you through it.

Catherine

Hi Elizabeth

DWP are trialling on line PIP forms, we do not yet know when this will be rolled out across all regions.

Well done for your perseverance, there are different ways in completing the form as stated by Catherine, always make sure any additional pages have your name and NI number on them, you may also want to add page numbers.

That's really useful as I am typing my answers as I can't hold a pen for very long. I can then just write "see page .... of additional information document" in each section and hope it won't annoy them too much!

If I was an assessor I would much prefer to read a neatly typed sheet of answers than have to attempt to decipher my handwriting :P
