PIP - Review was created by MrFibro
Hi to all,
The Brown envelope landing on the matt this morning in the hallway at home. I immediately spotted the BELFAST mark all over it. I knew it was either ESA or PIP related.
So yes it's a PIP review form pages 1 to 24.
Question 1 - is it usual for the DWP to give a claimant about 12 weeks to fill out and send the form back to them? If i remember right it was only a month. The longer the better as it means I'm still getting paid right.
Question 2 - As my health has greatly worsened can i use my old ESA- PIP evidence etc, and also along with new supporting evidence too, ie Rheumatologist, neurologists scan reports etc, and support letter from GP ?
Question 3 - If for some instance some of my updated needed scans or reports from specialists are not back to me to add them to my PIP bundle prior to sending of via post. Can i get an extension based on the fact i need the extra time to gather this evidence. ?
Question 4 - last but not least.... Have the PIP guides been updated this year (2021). As my PIP is a review, not a fresh claim. Do i assume i need to act as if it is? and going back to the guides i assume i need to print and read them thoroughly through, even if there's no 2021 updates. I just thought maybe their was a PIP guide just related to doing a PIP review, not the full monty.
Thanks in advance, and good luck to all.
Best regards.

Hi mrfibrospondodysthmatic
1. Some claimants are being given three months to return the form.
2. You can use a mixture of old and new
3. I don't know whether they will offer you can extension over three months - this is something you would have discuss with them.
4. PIP guide has been updated. You don't need to look at the entire guide. There is a section just on filling out the review form.

Hi Bis,
Thanks for your replying back to me. The last PIP guides i downloaded and printed off were around 2015/ 2016.
I will go to the guides section and look for what you have advised.
One last question! when the review form goes back to say Wolverhampton depot. Does the DWP who deals with PIP read what i have submitted to them. And they could make a decision there and then, a yay or a nay.
Or does it go straight off to say capita or atos who ever they are now (rebranded themselves). And then it's down to them whether they give a pbr (paper back review) or a phone call, or an F2F?
Then their report is sent off to the DWP's DM's hence an outcome.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards to all.

Hello mrfibrospondodysthmatic,
My understanding is that the forms are clerically processed by the DWP and then sent to the assessment body for evaluation. But I can’t remember where I got that information from, so it might be wrong! Perhaps someone else has the definitive answer?
