PIP review was created by yingy1
Like many other members I received a letter saying my PIP had been extended to October '21 then beginning of December I received a PIP review form to complete leaving me approximately 3 weeks to return it (Perfect timing over the Christmas period-I DON'T think)

Well I completed the form and received an appointment for a telephone assessment. After my last face to face assessment (which was full of lies /inconsistencies and contradictions) I requested it to be recorded so I had to wait another couple of weeks and had it yesterday.

The dreaded call came 40 minutes late (but I was informed by customer services (or whatever they are called) that she was running late. She was really nice and chatty which helped to calm my nerves, and allowed me to explain in detail the problems I have with any aspect of daily activities, all the aids I have, and allowed my partner to add comments if I had forgotten anything(I did have my form in front of me with some things added to it)

The call lasted 1 hour and she said if I needed to have a break to tell her (I did have to stand for a while due to chronic back problems) and she really put me at ease throughout the call.

Whether she was like this because it was being recorded I don't know, but at least I will have the proof, if needed as to what was actually discussed. I would advise everyone to request their assessment be recorded now be it f to f or telephone.

Well I now have to wait 6-8 weeks for my decision (presently on standard rate for both) but my needs have changed for the worse, I will update when I get my decision so wish me luck folks.

May I add a BIG thanks to all moderators who do a brilliant job with their advice to us all

many thanks

Hi Yingy1

Glad to hear that your assessment went well. If you want you can ring up for a copy of the assessment report 48 hours after the assessment.
