PIP AND WORK was created by Tyrone
I am on Enhanced Daily Living PIP. I had previously been on DLA middle care. I was able to work on DLA Middle care for years. However I have not worked since being awarded Enhanced. My condition has not changed it is just that the criteria has changed. I have now been offered a very low level job and want to know can you work on PIP. I cannot dress without help I need to be checked before I go out. I have to wear bras that go over my head. Buttons and Zips take longer for me to do. . I read somewhere that you are required to inform them if your condition gets worse or better, but my condition has said the same and when I was given the award I was given it as 10 year as the panel thought that my condition would not improve. Just looking some guidance on this.

Firstly, there is utterly no reason why you can not work and claim PIP. PIP is not means tested in anyway - if you are disabled and can score enough points you will receive PIP whatever your earnings.
An employer has a duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees. Additionally there are rules preventing discrimination of disabled people when seeking a new employee.
When you’re looking for work, look on adverts and application forms for the ‘disability confident’ symbol.
This symbol means the employer is committed to employing disabled people,
and you’ll be guaranteed an interview if you meet the basic conditions for the job.
You may also be able to get help from the local job centre.
Should you find a suitable job, your new employer may be able to get a grant from Access to work to supply any equipment that could help you to work.
Local authorities and large organisations are often good at providing work for disabled people, and sometimes offer much support as well.
The only caveat I would raise is to be very careful how you complete your next PIP review form.(Although hopefully this will be a long way off!) If you say you work and give DWP that you can do all manner if things then DWP are likely to assume you shouldn't get PIP. Of course this will be a false assumption, but you can avoid this by explaining you do sheltered work, or have a specifically adapted workplace.
I hope this helps.

Yes they wrongly assumed that I was not disabled enough to work. All my work has been in low paid jobs. Also they thought wrongly that because I had a degree I was to smart to be disabled. That is one of the first things you learn in disability awareness training that disabled people can be clever. I had to appeal this to get where I am today. Even a letter from a neurologist did not chance the decision. I had to go to an appeal to get this sorted out.
I had actually have been on ESA for a while due to the severe stress which this had caused me this is another query do ESA inform PIP that I have started work. I know then a two different benefits and different assessments.

Hi Tyrone
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.
Welcome to Benefits and Work .
I am not aware that ESA would inform PIP if you start work as you can claim PIP and work at the same time, I know many claimants who claim PIP and work. You have to be careful as to what work you and what support you need to do the work.
