Your Personal Independence Payment has been amende

I recently sent off the AR1 back to Pip.
I've just had a letter from my council regarding my Housing Benefit which states the award is exactly the same as before. However, at the bottom of the letter it states that:
"Full details of the information that has been provided to us by the Department of Work and Pensions can be found below:
Your Personal Independence Payment has been amended.
Your Personal Independence Payment has been amended."

I haven't had a letter re my Pip claim yet. I'm now worried sick. I didn't think that PIP had anything to do with Housing Benefit. I'm pretty confused.

I'd be grateful if anyone has any advice or information.

Thank you

Hello sjwcr,

Well that sounds like a pretty confusing computer generated letter. Being entitled to PIP can also entitle someone to additional housing benefits and/or council tax benefits which is presumably why you have received the letter.

It sounds to me as your local authority have received notification from the DWP before you have received your copy. I would suggest a phone call to the PIP helpline 0800 121 4433 so you can find out exactly what is happening. (Do be aware that they can take a long while to answer; but unless you hit going home time, they will eventually get round to you.)

Try not to panic, they haven't stopped you benefits at the council.

This sounds to me you've been down graded with you PIP to both standard rates?

You hear so many times from claimants that a council writes to the claimant before the DWP does.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.

Oh no I hope not, I don't think I've got it in me to fight. I am currently on standard rate for both. Aaargh! I was too frightened to phone. Do you think they have stopped it altogether?

Remember it is also possible that they have increased your award.

Thank you Catherine and ThisGovernment for your swift replies, it really is appreciated and even though I have no clue it is nice to feel less alone over this issue. I have decided that I will give it til Monday to receive the letter, and if it doesn't arrive by then I will phone DWP.

Will keep you updated, thanks again.
