Had PIP Assesment today was created by Manic_Minotaur
Hi everyone,

I had my PIP telephone assessment with Capita today, It was shorter than I expected at only around 50 minutes long, the lady I had was admittedly very nice, although I've heard they mostly are during the phone call, its what they record afterwards that may not be so favourable. I must admit I did feel that she only asked me a select few questions ( although I'm hoping that's because there was enough information on my application as opposed to anything else ) in hindsight I wish I wasn't feeling so anxious on the phone and had talked more freely of my own will but I was so nervous I didn't feel able.

Now its done and dusted I realise there isn't anything I can do or change so I'm going to try my best to stay level-headed, considering I had my assessment today (Friday) would I be able to call the DWP on Monday or Tuesday and ask for a copy of the dreaded PA4, knowledge is power and either way the report goes I'll help me prepare myself for MR (if needs be) or just put me out of my misery in terms of a potential award.

I also just wanted to say thankyou to this site because without the guide, and advice presented on this very forum I wouldn't have even made an application to PIP, but whether I receive good news or bad you've gotten me this far!

Hello Manic Minotaur,

Thank you for your kind words - it is always good to hear that we do actually make a difference to people!

I would give the DWP a call on Tuesday - 48 working hours. And whilst I hope you are delighted with what you find on the PA4, remember we are here for you if you have an ongoing fight.

Catherine

Dear Manic Minotaur [btw I do love your 'handle'!], please do do as catherine says and call for your report. But don't just assume if it's full of issues that you can only prepare for submitting an MR. You actually can write to the Decision Maker immediately, coldly taking apart the faults point by point. refer to your original evidence/form and or add relevant docs. Eg for our daughter the assessor tried to play down her pain levels. So I added to my letter the NHS website part saying 'tramadol is for severe pain', as they could see her prescription is for max dose of Tramadol.
Sending this letter turned a grotty report full of untruths and omissions into an Enhanced /Enhanced decision so well worth a try. And if you still get a dud decision, well you have got the material for your MR done already.
best wishes,
Denby
