No ESA increase was created by Rosie45**
I was on IB originally, and I've been on ESA for years. My money has stayed the same each year. I have asked DWP why, and got told that they put me on a higher rate, and my money won't increase until everyone else has caught up. This hardly seems fair to me, and I know most of what the DWP do to people, is unfair.
Is this correct?

Hi Northern lass

We do not have all your details so cannot give you an answer. You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies.

The answer to your question is yes DWP will freeze a claimants benefit whilst others claiming the same benefit catch up. The most recent example is claimants who have a SDP and claim UC. The transitional element is a top-up payment so that you do not lose out because of the introduction of Universal Credit. It means that, in cash terms, you cannot receive less than your current benefits.
