MR for PIP after a year? was created by enigma
Hello, so I applied for PIP and got enhanced daily living and standard for mobility though I scored a 10 in the mobility section.
I didn't want to go to MR because I was clueless and didn't want to risk losing my money. I am deaf and have some anxiety/depression, I have moderate degenerative arthritis that I didn't put in the form because I thought they wouldn't believe me.
Recently I've realised I am actually entitled to more points and should probably be on the enhanced mobility as well. My question is how should I go about things now?
The way I see it, I can either make a change of circumstances and add the arthritis, and hope they reconsider the points they gave me (0) for most daily living component, 12 for communication (because I'm deaf, I dont think they considered my mental health at all)?
Or is there a way to retroactively ask for a MR for a claim after 12 months? I know about 13 month one, which would be the way to do it but it's past that now.
Thank you in advance.

Hi ayoub
To apply for a MR after 12 months you would have to have a very good reason, there is always the risk of loosing what you have already been awarded.
Only you can decide whether you want to put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration.
Have a look at our guide on PIP Appeals (which includes Mandatory Reconsiderations). It might help you make up your mind. You should also ring and ask for the assessment report (PA 4) which will give you more details on were you scored.
