A huge thank you to this site. I, like many, have had ongoing health issues for nearly 20 years now & when I changed from DLA to PIP I had to ask for a mandatory reconsideration as the Assessor had lied all the way through their report, & I had lost my mobility car, I was devastated & my mental health hit crisis point. Luckily the MR worked in my favour & I was awarded the enhanced for both, but only for 2 years until 2022. My review form arrived in June 2021 & I just immediately felt sick & distressed & couldn't sleep just thinking about it. I used the information from this site & I am lucky to have a fantastic GP & Consultants as they wrote excellent letters stating specifically that things were NOT GOING TO CHANGE. To my surprise I received the DWP decision within 3 weeks! Awarded enhanced for both, but more importantly for 5 YEARS & NO ASSESSMENT! To say I'm over the moon would be an understatement. I'm so relieved knowing I don't have to think about this now for at least 4 years or bother GP's & consultants again for some time. My message to all of you going through applications, reviews etc. is follow the advice given here, don't be afraid to speak openly with your GP 's & consultants telling them what you need them to say in their letters. If they're not comfortable doing that, then they will only write what they feel happy with, but if you don't ask them, you'll never know, & you'd be surprised how many of them are willing to give you what you need because at the end of the day it saves them having to provide information every year or 2! Good luck to you all. I will be continuing to pay my subscription because it's worth every penny, even just to be kept up to date with the changes. So thank you all that do the research, write the articles etc. Can't thank you enough!

If you qualify for the benefit and your Doctor's say your condition isn’t going to change you should have been awarded an ongoing award for 10 years not a fixed 5 year award.

Jenga, I would also agree with you, but a lot does depend on your age when they offer PIP?

Even though a letter of evidence states where a claimant won't improve the DWP think a claimant can, or could adjust to life with a disability? Basically the older you are the more chance with viable proof showing you won't ever improve the more chance of an ongoing award.

I'm near retirement and got an ongoing award both Enhanced no face-to-face papers only.

@Susan well done I have good Drs and Consultants too. They even said this is wrong how the DWP treat people. Enjoy the peace.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.
