It is now 10 days and DWP have not answered.. was created by emeraldshine
I have already posted previously and had advice from Catherine. Twice I phoned the DWP and they told me expect a reply by 5--10 days..
I totally have no mental capacity to understand one answer they gave me can anyone please enlighten me. I was awarded my PIP in 2019 after a very hard time and applying to go for an appeal. The DWP contacted me at the last minute offering enhanced mobility component and standard care for everyday things like washing cooking and all that sort of thing. My written paperwork gave me 10 years award and no contact until Jan. 2029.
My medical specialists gave letters that my condition had no improvement and with age only deterioration. I manage my condition some days better than others although this last year have felt so much more tired and the extra money has helped to have someone do daily home
tasks for me.
Two weeks ago after being ill for 8 weeks I noticed my PC payments have been reduced by
£125 per fortnight and the reduction started seven weeks ago that was the time I was ill but not in hospital. DWP pension credit told me that PIP sent them a message that my severe disability premium has finished and I have no idea what this means as my PIP has not changed. All my mental health anxieties have returned and I do not know who to speak to about this at DWP and if the PC say it is down to PIP should I speak to them? I was told by PC they would sort it but I have had no letters at all. I should be due a pension credit payment on Monday the last one was only £40 and I expect this one will be the same. Don't know what to do. Advice appreciated.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Pauline
I would follow the advice from Catherine, did you send PC a copy of your PIP award letter?
Did you get your full payment + arrears today? if not then contact PC and ask what is going on, if still no joy then contact you MP explain what has happened and ask them for help.

Hi Gary, thank-you for your reply and have not answered sooner as sorting a few things at home and finally found someone to take care of my garden which I cannot do so well.
I followed Catherines advice and sent my PIP award letter by recorded delivery sent it last Monday. I have not received any payment + arrears or even a letter which had been told they would do, so no joy on anything. I shall phone Pension Credit on Monday morning and ask for an explanation.
I am not sure my M.P is most helpful right now as I had an empty property next door to me since January 2021 and lots of belongings and even a car had been left as the man had died.
The place was in a proper mess and I had been phoning the council the housing and my M.P
trying to get something done. Just about two weeks ago I had an e-mail from the M.P it had the case number I had been given but the e-mail was only talking about how he is so pleased all his constituents have behaved so well over the coronavirus and he was happy he had messages from his constituents in regard of the loss of a relative of his to coronavirus. There was nothing at all about the mess next door to me. I just started calling the environmental health myself every other day and they have been around and at last the car was removed on Wednesday and people from the housing have been inside the property so it seems things are starting to move. Even the gardening I talked about had huge overfall from the next door garden all coming into my area but the gardener was sympathetic and did not charge too much to do it all so at least my area is clear clean and tidy now.
Sorry to get off subject but getting anyone to do anything for services is hopeless and it is all
blamed on coronavirus.
I need those arrears paid as money is going down now and I have just ordered new glasses because my eyesight has slightly deteriorated so the loss of Pension Credit is beginning to hit.
I will let you know how I get on.
Thank-you
Pauline.

Morning. i think there is a major issue with ‘premiums’ at the moment. I had to wait 16 weeks for my SDP. Sent forms in twice, phoned up twice.
All you can do is be persistent. Try not to worry too much and phone up.

Hello Pauline,
If this matter is still not settled, I would recommend not only continuing to chase up the DWP yourself, but I think it is worth contacting your MP again. I know you were disappointed at the previous reply you had from him, but that was a letter regarding something which is really the responsibility of your local council. This is definitely comes under the DWP, who in turn come under central government, so I would think it is worth another go.
You might also want to think about getting a local benefits advisor involved. Advisors do not have any magic words to use, but sometimes the DWP do seem to respond to a more formal approach.
This can be a helpful link in locating someone.

Hi Catherine, thank-you for your reply and just letting you know that I phoned the DWP
early yesterday morning. This is how I got on ; the Pension Credit lady told me that they have just re-instated my pension credit and the arrears + next pension credit payment will go into my account on Friday 27th August it's going in early because of Bank holiday on the Monday.
I was told the reason the pension credit stopped was because PIP reviewed my award (I knew nothing about that) the PIP was carrying on the same but they forgot to tell Pension credit I was still on PIP so they stopped the disability premium. Hopefully my money will be paid Friday and apparently a letter will be sent out when the money is paid in.
Lets hope it all goes to plan and things settle again.
