Letter signed by medical secretary rather than gp was created by Chlorinated
Gp wrote me a strong letter and signed it however later I realised it has spelling mistakes as well as one sentence which was could be interpreted wrongly so I asked gp to edit again.
GPS secretary did edit the letter however gp wasn’t available to sign so secretary signed it on her behalf so the letter contains gps name printed but with medical secretaries signature.
Gp wrote and signed a good letter for me however it contained some spelling mistakes and one sentence which could be misleading so I asked her to edit it. As they were small changes medical secretary edited it but as gp was not available signed it on her behalf. The letter has gp name printed with secretaries signature above it.
I dont want to ask gp to sign now because no time plus they said they won’t be editing letter again
1. Is it ok to submit the letter like this or might they notice the signature and it will cause issues?
The signature is on page 2 which has no extra text. I could just get the page 2 from the original letter and send that then it will have the correct signature and I really don’t see a problem with that but just worried it might cause problems?
2) I’ve also just noticed debilitating is misspelt debilating, they won’t edit it should I use a pen and correct myself or should I leave as is? Sorry if I’m being too pedantic maybe I’m anxious and stressed from this form.
Thanks

Hi Chlorinated, I was once a proofreader and this sort of thing drives me potty too. However, IMHO do not give it another thought, because so few of the assessors are half as literate as you and it is clear enough what it means. Have to say I'd probably do your switch with the pages myself but it's up to you. Even if you don't, if they argued, they would only have to go back to the GP who would then back it up, so they probably wouldn't bother. How often do they contact GPs anyway despite what it says at the front of the form?? Personally the one thing I would NOT do is write on the letter even a little bit, as they might then accuse you of trying to alter it!
Best wishes,
Denby

Hi Chlorinated
I know it can be very annoying when you see spelling mistakes but leave it alone.
The signature is on page 2 which has no extra text. I could just get the page 2 from the original letter and send that then it will have the correct signature and I really don’t see a problem with that but just worried it might cause problems?
I would do as you have suggested, make sure you send a copy of the letter to the DWP, do not send the original letter as you will not get it back.
