Do I contact PIP? was created by Fleur33
Hi,
I have severe heath problems and receive PIP high care and high mobility. This award was for ten years. I have previously had a stroke and heart attack. I have had a brain aneurysm and tumour.
I loose my vision for up to one hour at any given time and only feel able to go out alone knowing if I feel unwell I can call someone.
I explained all this on my forms. I had a really bad funny turn a couple of months ago. My consultant advised me to start walking if I am able to and as I am on new meds I can now walk further that is on my PIP forms and I can walk more often. I am worried I will get into trouble if I do not contact PIP about this but equally worried they will stop my PIP if I inform them. I am not well enough to go to work and near retirement age.
Thank you

Hi Bobbi 33

The rules are that if your health has improved then you are supposed to inform the DWP. How soon you do this is something you will have to choose. If your mobility has improved then they are likely to reassess you. You need to be careful that 1, you don't inform them before you know that this is going to be a continuous improvement and 2. If you have other ongoing difficulties you make sure it is clear that you still have these and the impact on your life.
