"Has Anything Changed" questions - PIP review was created by stefaniel2001
I've tried starting my PIP review form today but my brain just doesn't want to focus. On some of my activities/descriptors I'm not sure how to describe any changes and whether those changes would actually increase the points awarded.
If I was to write - nothing has changed - on the descriptors where I did score in 2017, are they likely to actually award the same points? I know in the 2nd part of the question - Tell us how you manage this activity now - I can still write up what my issues with the activity are so would hope that would help? And would I lose points if I just copied and posted from my 2017 paperwork?
I'm hoping that would be ok so I can focus on the areas that have worsened but I am very worried as I have always had to go to appeal .
Hopefully someone can advise and reassure me?

Hi stefaniel2001

The reason why we recommend claimants keep a copy of their claim form is for situations such as yours.

If there is no change in your circumstances copy what you wrote before, if you condition(s) have deteriorated then explain how the condition has got worse and what adverse affects it has on you.

If you condition has improven, then explain what your current limitations are.

We hear quite often on the forum members stating no change on the form and then being awarded zero points, I always look at a review as if it is a new claim, don't forget to send in supporting evidence if you have any, even if you have sent it in previously with an explanation that your condition has not changed. If it has got worse then you do need a more recent report detailing your condition has deteriorated.

Thanks Gary
I was thinking of using a format like this : In 2017 I was awarded 2 points for the descriptor “You cannot cook a simple meal using a conventional cooker but you can do so using a microwave” however I felt then that the descriptor “Needs supervision or assistance to either prepare or cook a simple meal.” applied to me and that is still the case.
And then detailing my difficulties - maybe slightly rewording my original statement.

Forget the term ‘Review’. Treat this as a new claim and complete it as such. Use the information you entered on your last claim but modified for your current situation.

Thanks Jenga - yes I think it's sensible to treat it as if it were a completely new claim, I'm not sure they always look back at previous claims to see all the issues that were reported then anyway.

Do you think it's acceptable on some of the points on the form to actually copy and past from my 2017 submission?
On my toilet/continence issues I wrote a very thorough description and due to my current brain fog/fatigue I can't think of a better way of wording it.
I don't think they always refer back to previous forms anyway, but wouldn't want something as daft as it being the same wording to go against me.
Thanks :o)
