Hi Gary, got my PA4 report this morning. The assessor has indicated that I should get 8 points for daily living and nothing for mobility. The mobility part of things is what is limiting my life. I have chronic pain. She says in one part that I have more bad days than good and that on a bad day I will be in bed which is true. On a good day I could walk more than 200 metres before having to rest. Again this is true but most of the time I can’t go out because of the pain and am in bed. Should I highlight this to the decision maker or is this not enough? She has written what was said during the assessment accurately but her opinion is that I don’t meet the moving around descriptor. Should I write to decision maker or wait for award letter and then do mandatory reconsideration?

Hi I have had my PA4 report and would like to write to the decision maker as you suggested. How do I do that? I did my application on line. Where do I send my letter? I want to clarify my assessment report which didn’t highlight my mobility issues. I know you said there is a small window of opportunity for this so would like to do this ASAP!

Hi Jennifer
Gary is right. The window to write to the decision maker is very small, so you need to do it immediately. Address the letter to the 'Decision Maker' and send it to the address on your letter which originally told you about filling in the form (which I know you chose to do online).
Even if you write to the decision maker, it doesn't stop you from putting in an MR (Mandatory Reconsideration) if the final decision doesn't go your way.

Thanks, I phoned DWP and got the address to send my letter. They tried to say wait till decision is made but I said it was to highlight what hadn’t been put in the report by the assessor to help with the decision. I also said I wasn’t requesting a mandatory reconsideration at this time but reserved the right to do that later. I sent it special delivery today so should arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed it makes a difference.
