I received my PIP Award Review . It had to be returned by July 16th. I returned it on the 3rd of July. When my usual PIP payment didn’t appear in my account. I called them to find out what had happened. They said they hadn’t received it. I asked them how I was expected to manage financially. They replied they’d send me another form (that was 3 days ago), and that they would back date it. It now seems that I could be without my PIP payment for a very long time, now they have stopped it, whereas I would have been receiving it until they had got round to reading the review. I’m wheelchair bound and reliant on a carer. How will I pay her?, will my Motobility car have to be returned because they’re no payments being made by the DWP? I’m broken and suicidal. I just don’t know what to do. None of this is my fault.!

Hello Lornae
So sorry to hear of your situation. Did you by any chance keep a copy of the review you returned and did you return it by recorded delivery? If possible, it's always best to keep a copy for yourself for future reference and recorded delivery allows you to track your return. I hope you don't have to wait too long for the replacement review form. As for your Motability car, I believe if you get in touch with them and explain your situation, they are allowing more time to qualifying mobility claimants due to continuing backlogs etc with PIP renewals, it certainly would be worth having a chat with them. Good luck.

Hi Lornae

I'm sorry this has happened to you. Did you post it back with any proof of postage or tracking? Unfortunately, there's very little you can do if you didn't, as the DWP will insist they haven't had it. If you do have proof of posting and/or that it was delivered and signed for, then, you have a stronger argument with the DWP to act more quickly. If you have the proof, put in another call and ask to speak to a case manager about what has happened.

If you're PIP has stopped - then yes, Motability will ask for your car back. I would get in touch with them asap and explain what has happened and see what period of grace they may give you.

In terms of your form, when it comes, fill it in as quickly as possible. Hopefully, you kept a copy of what you sent in before. I'm afraid we can't advise you about payments for your carer.

Obviously, you are struggling to know what to do next. If you can, I would get onto your MP and see if they can help. MPs are now on a break, but there should be someone in the local constituency office.

You also might talk to a local welfare advisor in your area to see if they can help. You can use the link to see what is available.

I'm sorry this has has such an impact on your mental health. I have included a link to the Samaritans if you need it - their lines are open 24/7 www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/ -
