Hi,
As promised, an update from to my request for a paper based assessment!
I have just, at the time of writing this, received a text from DWP advising me that the health professional has sent their report and DWP will make a decision on my PIP but it may take 6 weeks.
I assume from this that the health professional has accepted my request and done a paper based review although this seems to be very quick from the date of my intial contact which was only 6 days ago. I do not know if I should worry that a negative report has been generated becuase of my request?
If this is good news than I think this may be an incentive for others who think they qualify for a paper based assessment if they have enough medical evidence and back up of past assessments where their medical conditions have not improved and unlikely to do so, especially if this has been supported by thier health professional in their letters/reports?
Should I contact DWP about getting a copy of the report sent to them or is it too early to do that.
I just hope I do get the award that I am happy with based on my review papers and medical reports sent in and not have to go down the route of a Mandatory Reconsideration or a Tribunal although I am prepared to down that route if that need arises.

An upate to my request for paper based review.
I have just had a text from DWP advising me that the health professional has sent them their report and DWP make decision on my pip review but it may take 6 weeks.
I am assuming that my reasoning for a paper based assessment was accepted but I am worried that this was done within 6 days of my initial request. Hopefully, I will get the award that I feel I should get based on the contents of my review paper and my medical reports.
I am not sure if I should contact DWP now or wait for a few days and ask for the report which I belive would be PA3?

Hi Harishah
You are correct, if you have a paper assessment then the assessors report is called a PA3
We do hear sometimes on the forum that when a request for a PA3 is made members have been informed that no PA3 had been made.

I had a paper based review after IAS looked at my request and medical records and pas assessment report. The health assessor was a nurse and made a report in my favour emphasising my extensive health issues and they were unlikely to improve at any time. The assessor gace points on most of the major ones including on this occasion under planning and following a journey.
I have just received a report from the DWP and although they have awarded enhanced daily living and mobility for an ongoing period - there is no indication of when the next review is going to be so I assume this a 10 year period?
I am extremely disappointed that I have been given 0 points even though the Health assessor had indicated was a nurse who would have had medical knowledge to indicate points to be awarded under this descriptor. I a grateful to have been awarded 12 points under moving around.
Although, I have been awarded enhanced under both categories I strongly feel that I should not have been denied points under planning and following a journey and I should not let DWP get away with this based on the extremely positive report given by the IAS health assessor.
I am considering putting in a mandatory reconsideration on just the planning and following a journey descriptor as all the others have been met. I realise that DWP will look at the whole award but based on the IAS report I also feel if this went to a tribunal then they would also rule in my favour as the assessor has made a strong representation on my degenerative conditions and the fact they they are lifelong and unlikely to improve and this has been indicated through out the report.
Can somebody please advise on this? The mandatory reconsideration request will be for just just one descriptor so should be straight forward.

Congratulations on the award.
An MR (or appeal) contests the award not the points so there is no value in you doing this, especially as you have an On-Going award which does mean no assessment for at least ten years and a Light Touch one when one is actually done.
Enjoy your award and leave the DWP to pester other claimants.

Gordon,
In hindsight you are right. I should be grateful for the enhanced award for both elements and on the plus side an ongoing award which hopefully means just a light touch review.
I went through the report carefully again and what I did notice is that the DWP case manager appears to have quoted the wrong rates! The rates quoted that I have been given are the old ones and not the new ones which started in April. I also noticed there was no explanation as to why case manager decided against not awarding any points for Planning and following a journey which normally they do or at least have done so in my reports.
I have have a strong suspicion that the case manager has made an error in writing the report and forgetting to include points advised by the health assessor.
Maybe I could just write or phone, rather than going down the route of mandatory reconsideration, to mention that an error may have been made and they need to to look at that just incase and correct if necessary. Do you think this is advisable otherwise I will just let it go and mention this when the next review comes up.
At least I can now enjoy life without any worries hanging over me for a sudden brown letter coming through the letter box!
I believe I may be entitled to register for the Motability scheme but DWP have not advised of this unless I will contacted separately for this as the report has only just been made. Can you advise on this?
Thank you for all your help and advice and fantastic guides which have helped over the years without which I may not have been in this position.
