This year the amount I receive from my personal pension which I took early and my New Style ESA (I'm in the support group) went above my personal allowance £12570, I do get deductions from my ESA already due to my personal pension.
I called them last year to get the allowance split between the personal pension and ESA, I used the calculation to work out how much I would get from each and asked tax office to split them using the figures I gave them, I knew I would not pay tax.
I called them again this year but as I wanted to only have tax coming off my pension, even though its not a lot, so I gave them the figure what my ESA for the year would be and the rest went againt my personal pension. Then if you have any queries with tax at the end of the year I would only need to look at my pension.
I do not know if it would help any others but I thought that I would post this anyway.
