PIP telephone assessment - MR? was created by Ally111
Hello, I had a very lengthy PIP telephone assessment, 1.5 hours! Was totally exhausted and had to go to bed afterwards.
I haven't received the decision yet, but I know the outcome as I had to telephone the PIP helpline to request a copy of the medical assessment report and the automated service tells you when and how much your next payment will be.
I have received the report. They have not given me any award for mobility. I scored 4 points for moving around but 0 for planning and following journeys. When my award was reviewed last time in 2020, they did the same and I went to appeal and won and was given back my mobility award.
Nothing has changed regarding my health (mental and physical conditions), is it worth putting in an MR ? should I obtain further evidence from my GP to send in with MR ?
I'm still waiting for the decision letter !
Also, the health professional who carried out the telephone medical assessment has said that I was not anxious during the call. How can they tell over the phone?
In fact I was extremely anxious ! I was so anxious and distressed the week leading up to the assessment that I was taking my medication wrong and overdosing which I discovered the day after the assessment and had to seek URGENT medical help.
Any advice on what I should do will be greatly received.
Thank you.

Hi Ally111
As you have stated that there has been no change in your condition since the Tribunal, I would apply for a MR and point that there has been no changes in your condition since the Tribunal and send a copy of the decision letter. I usually use the form CRMR1; www.gov.uk/government/publications/chall...ork-and-pensions-dwp
As for the doctors letter, quite often I find them not very useful, and very expensive unless you have a very good relationship with your Dr.

Dear Ally111,
I'm not a mod but if possible I would suggest getting medical evidence for the anxiety-induced overdosing. Point out firmly in your MR that this very accidental overdosing would have made you sound less anxious than you would be normally on the correct safe maximum dose.
Best wishes,
Denby

Hi - I had a PIP telephone assessment pushing 2 hours, and have been on standard rate for both daily living and mobility since 2021. None of my circumstances have changed either, yet my PIP was stopped June 12th by letter. I have taken it to the tribunal stage, but seems this is happening to a lot of people now, and you know, it's awful to think that some people don't have the strength to fight this, and end up with suicidal thoughts because of the assessors and their incorrect information. Stay strong Ally111 - keep fighting till the end, and hopefully you'll get what you feel is the correct award. I wanted to let you know that you're not alone with the situation you find yourself in - I know it's shocking, and hopefully sometime in the future, something will be done to help rectify all these wrong doings by the DWP's assessors. Good luck.
