Pip contacting about changes was created by headabovethewater
Thanks to this site March 2020 I was successful for daily living lower rate. The same as many others I did feel it should have been higher rate daily and lower rate mobility. I only received 4 points for mobility so no award there. Fast forward to now and I have more limitations along with more consultants letters detailing this. How do I approach dwp and is it a full start again claim or a form to update of changes? Any advice greatly appreciated. I also am just at first stages esa so greatful of the overlap guide with the pip/esa questions, thank you for this valuable advice, it's all so confusing!

Hi heavabovethewater

You can put in a 'change of circumstances' request. This will automatically trigger a review and an assessment. You will be sent the ordinary review form. (If you haven't filled one in before - have a look at the Guide to PIP claims and reviews and you will see the whole process. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

Only put in for a change of circumstances if you have had the condition/s for three months before you inform the DWP and that it will continue for the following nine months (otherwise, the DWP won't consider it). Also, you would be wise to be certain that your new information will lead to an improved award.

I can't tell you how long the process will take, but by putting in a change of circumstances - if your award is improved, it will be backdated to the date you informed the DWP about the changes.

Thank you, I'm sure the timings/months are correct. Is there a set time from me calling to them sending a form out and me then having to fill it out and returning it by?

Hi headabovethewater

When they send out the form, you will have four weeks to fill it in and return it. With the way the post is these days, you will probably only have two weeks. As soon as you receive the form, you ring the DWP and ask for a two-week extension which will be granted.
