Hi Sooz
I'm really sorry to hear of your news. That's hard for you and your loved ones.
When a person is diagnosed with a terminal illness, they can come under what is known as the 'special rules' - which in some cases may mean an increase in benefits, no medical assessments. To do this, an additional form would be needed. I have put a link to Marie Curie - so you can check out their comprehensive information.
www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/support/benef...al-illness-diagnosis Regarding your benefits: PIP: If you're already receiving the enhanced rate for Daily Living - your recent diagnosis makes no difference.
ESA - You are already in the support group, so there is no change as far as I can see. However, check out what the site says to ensure you receive what you should.
I don't know when your PIP was next up for review, but you really don't want to be pestered with an assessment - so I think you would be wise to inform the DWP so you do not suddenly receive a form.
Wishing you the very best
