Hi I’ve just had a letter to say I’ve got a phone assessment next Friday. I am terrified I’ve tested positive for Covid today on top of everything else.

I can’t find how your disability affects you form I’ve put it somewhere I’m panicking.

What can I expect from the assessment. My GP has left as well so can’t provide any medical evidence as there is no other GP who I see in the surgery.

The only other person who I see is a psychiatrist. What time of questions do they ask in assessment I will be on my own as I live on my own and have no support. It’s just sending my anxiety through the roof

Hi sioned25

Have a look at the Guide to PIP claims and reviews. From page 125, you will find advice about the sort of questions that you will be asked. Be aware they nearly always ask a curveball question, eg a question that is unexpected and seems to have no relevance to the other questions. If you get one of these, don't try and answer it without taking a pause. Say you just need a drink of water or answer you don't know. Don't let this question trip you up.

They will not necessarily ask you all the questions listed in the guide. Sometimes they miss questions out because they think they already know the answer. You haven't got your form at the moment, and if you don't find it before next Friday, you might want to jot down a few bullet points to each question to help you out.

I don't know whether you have asked for the assessment to be recorded. If you haven't, you would be wise to do so, though some assessors refuse, and it could lead to a change of date for the assessment. We also advise people to take a covert recording if they can do so. You will find all this advice in the guide.
