PIP assessment, consultation/assessment with independent assessment services was created by limited
claimant is due to have a consultation/assessment with independent assessment services, if claimant has reasons to believe the person undertaking the consultation has NOT read their form, is their anything the claimant can do during the consultation? Also, when calling Independent assessment services the receptionist there stated "we are not medically trained", this is not at all promising.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The simple answer is no!
I can't remember which way around it is for the two Assessment Providers but one recommended their assessors read the form and evidence before the assessment and the other said to do so after.
As to the receptionist, they are admin staff I would not expect them to be medically trained.

first part OK n thanks, I dont know how these people can undertake assessments without reading the claimants form first. They seem to get away with a lot.
second part, I know the receptionist would not have medical training, I understood it as she was referring to the person/people undertaking the assessment, as that is what we were talking about.

I know a number of members might raise issues as to whether the medical training of the assessor is appropriate for their conditions but assessors are required to have medical training.
