UC Migration was created by Maggie
Just by chance I've just read something nasty about managed migration starting in my area (Cumbria) along with several other counties this September & other places in October.
I'm already absolutely terrified about changes to PIP due to my severe enduring cPTSD. Since the pandemic I've lost what little support & help I had, I'm really struggling to just get through the day. My GP of 20 years has gone & there's just a casual locum type practice, with combative receptionists with no MH training. I can't even get an appointment. So I've had to pay for BUPA, excellent but I have to pay £70 pcm for medicine just to stay alive.
There is no way I can comply with the UC system unless I can find an advocate or support worker. There's no GP or therapist now to write letters/sick notes. Even with help the change to PIP from DLA was so severely life threatening that I've never recovered.
I've so nearly made it to retirement age( I'm 63). Live alone, no family or close friends.
Wouldn't euthanasia be more humane than the homelessness, destitution & suicide I face?
No wonder my vile Tory neighbour is gleefully slamming the door under my bedroom to deliberately wake me up at 7am. I wake at 4am with terrible nightmares, so lazy me doesn't get up until 8.30am (also saves heating). I worked & paid Nat Insurance, I'm not a criminal, I'm a victim of crime. Why am I being so punished.

Hi Maggie
You are correct, managed migration is coming to Cumbria, but DWP are doing it in stages, the first stage will affect certain claimants in receipt of Tax Credits.
As for help in your area; advicelocal.uk
If you need help in claiming UC you can contact Citizen Advice help to claim service 0800 144 8 444
You may be able to get a home visit from a Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) officer to help you with your benefit claim.
You cannot book a visit yourself. Tell DWP you need help to claim benefits by calling the number of the benefit you’re applying for. If you’re eligible, they’ll arrange a support visit.
