does anyone know if having a personal assistant after a care act assesment to help with daily living will help towards getting an award, ie that its proof you have a disability and need support to manage. can it go against you. thanks
It won't be held against you that you have been awarded a PA. Will it help you get an award? `Not necessarily. If we're talking about PIP and you say that you need help for specific activities - the DWP will decide whether they agree or not. The fact that you have already been awarded help through another process won't necessarily sway them. As we know, the DWP don't always agree with the evidence from other professional experts!
