Hello, this is my first post here. I am new to UC and new to seeking benefits for health.
I am due to submit a work capability questionnaire and expect to be called to a work capability assessment.
However at this point I have very little evidence:
I have been wondering if it is best to cancel my current health journey and re-start when more medical evidence is availabe later in the year.
My query: If I do continue now but am assessed as 'fit for work, could I start again with more evidence later this year? (I mean a new submission rather than appealing the decision)
It should be possible to stop your current assessment process before a Decision is made but be aware, that this will return you to the All Work group with the associated pressure to find work.
If you continue and are found to be Fit for Work, then a "new" claim will require you to show a worsening in your conditions following that Decision likely to result in an award of at least Limited Capability for Work.
