Claiming universal credit limited capacity for work form was created by Helenredruth
I reset you sent back my limited capacity for work questionnaire as I am claiming UC but not well enough to work . It had to be received by then by 1st November and I sent it special delivery and it was signed for 28th October however they have informed me it had been refused and returns back to UC as they didn’t upload it until 11 th November and so are saying it was late . In order to have got it back I wouldn’t had to complete it in a week as they took 2 weeks to upload it to their system . How common place is this now ? It seems totally ludicrous. Thank fully I have proof so they have said to go back to UC and it’s up to them whether they send back the file .

Hi Helenredruth
I'm sorry this has happened to you. It is quite common for the authorities to claim that forms have been returned late because it takes so long for them to be uploaded to the system. You were wise to make sure that you had proof of when it was delivered.

Hello Helenredruth,
You were right in sending your form Special Delivery.
I will tell you what I find odd in my case, it was not about UC but about PIP.
I never received my PIP renewal form but as warned on their text message to let them know if that happened, I rang them and they sent me a replacement renewal form.
The replacement renewal pip form had the new date it had to be returned to them by written on that form, same with their text message confirming the date I had to return the replacement pip review form to them by.
Can you imagine my shock when Esa rang me to tell me they had removed my severe disability payment because I had not returned my pip form (which was not due to be returned until about one week later) and because my pip had been stopped.
And I did not know my pip had stopped.
I was distressed, rang pip and it was hard work to have them reinstate my pip as they originally told me to make a new application but they reinstated it. And Esa reinstated my my severe disability payment.
But what I find very odd, suspicious even, is that when I told pip it was their mistake as I was not due to return their replacement pip form they seemed to not know anything about it.
I told them I had proof that the form itself and their text gave me a return deadline date that was one week away and had not expired. They seemed to know nothing about it.
But what is suspicious is when the adviser told me on the phone lets hope we get your replacement pip form.
I replied you may think I am going to use your return envelope, I do not have to.
I will send the form next day special delivery by 1pm and I will see its transit, the date, time, and place it was received. With the name and signature of the person who signed for it together with a photo fo the envelope taken at their end.
And the adviser seemed surprised at my reply.
I always send everything Next Day Special Delivery by 1pm.
Plus I use their waterproof grey envelope in A4 even A3, that way the envelope does not get stuck at the bottom of the post office parcel.
Once I sent something special delivery in my small paper envelope, it was stuck in the post office bag and only found after a few days.
Best wishes to all.
