AA. pension credit and carers allowance was created by andi1970
  • I am looking for some advice, please. My mum receives pension credit and receives £218 approximately a week for her pension and has recently been awarded an attendance allowance at a lower rate. Due to her disabilities, I think she should be receiving additional pension credit. She is partially sighted has minimal mobility and has carers three times a day who need to wash and dress her in the morning et cetera.

I am the principal carer for my mum, and I, too, am disabled following an accident. I receive PIP and universal credit I am currently on the lower level of PIP, but I think I should be on the high rate due to my very limited mobility. Ironically, I used to work as a community partner for the DWP, but I am unable to work out what benefits my mum and I are entitled to and which would be the most efficient way of claiming this. If anyone can assist me, it would be very much appreciated. Also, is Mum entitled to Motability support for me to drive her thanks in advance

Hi andi1970

I'm really sorry but your questions are outside the scope of this forum. You need to speak to a specialist welfare advisor who can look at both your cases and see what, if anything more you can claim. We're not able to give you that advice. I've included a link to see what services you can find in your area.
