UC migration and unusual circumstances

Hi,

I have been on ESA for 8 years and have just submitted my UC claim after receiving a migration letter.

Unfortunately my mother was in a terrible accident overseas and is in a coma. I have had to go back and forth between there and the UK over the past few months. In fact, I am currently there as we work on repatriating her back to the UK, which may happen in the next two weeks.

I answered the claim form honestly, declaring that I have been out of the UK. However, I would like to give some context but there was nowhere on the form to add extra information. I have been looking at the options for leaving a journal entry. Do I need to report this as a change in circumstances? Or should I wait until returning to the UK before reporting? Is there any other way to send them an explanation for my circumstances?

Hi AR0000

I expect from the circumstances you describe you will be asked to attend your local Jobcentre where they will you ask you the questions from the Universal Credit PYCA To Do ( Prove you can Apply ). It is a truncated Habitual Residency Test. But I cannot imagine it not being passed.
