I have just checked my NI record for the first time and found that I have not had any NI credits for the whole time I have been on my partner's ESA claim. I have not been able to work for some time (and claim PIP), so haven't paid NI contributions that way either. Is this correct or is there some way I can get my NI credits?
Have you previously claimed any Benefits in your own name? or claimed Carer's Allowance or Carer's Credits? Partners on an ESA claim are not credited in their own right with NI contributions.
