Hi everyone,

Your advice is so helpful, many thanks.
I will fight this... if you can think of any other directions that would be great.
I will be submitting the appeal in another week as I have until the 15th.

Luckily I have it in writing the damage to my leg, I didn't want lots of money, I don't think LRM is a lot to ask from them.

Thanks again

Hi everyone hope you are all ok.

quick question for my appeal.

what is the difference between being 'virtually unable to walk' and being ' unable to walk without significant pain'

To me surely if you are in pain then you can't walk,
I am never without pain when I walk so surely that means I am unable to walk...

I'm lost now.. can't figure out how to get this down on paper

Hi Elle,

It's late, and I've had a busy day, so just off to bed.

See this link HERE and look at section 4.3.2 Virtually unable to walk.

If after reading it you need further advice, just post again and I or one of the other moderators who are qualified to answer your query will assist you if we can.

Best wishes.

Jim

Hi jim

many thanks that is interesting.

I went to our welfare rights office today to try and get some advice as i'm running out of time, they said I need to call on Monday as they don't have the appointments list yet for the new month..

I don't know how to write this, am worried that as I can just about still drive I will be refused aagin [although it's very painful]
I started writing it all out and it was more like a story than anything, certainly not an eloquent appeal.

My confidence is zero, i'm tired of hobbling around with a useless leg, today I had to go into the mobility shop to buy a grabber, that was a shock.
I'm 31 years old and today I feel 90

Also have a 2.5 cm lump in my groin, had it for 3 months am waiting for a scan and maybe biopsy am scared might have cancer,

Sorry for very long post having a very dark day

hi In have similar problems to you and was awarded HRM and LRC I think you have to highlight your treatment both past and ongoing especially the pain management aspect also speak to your GP my GP was uptodate on all my treatments and I was visiting regularly so he saw first hand what my problems where let him know you are having problems coping.

Backing from your GP or specialist is important I think but you have to let them know everything even ask if you can visit while they complete a support document dont be scared to ask them to say specific things.

You have to go for it good luck and I hope you succeed

Hi Austin,

Did you get turned down for HRM to begin with, you said have similar problems to me do you mean with lack of mobility ??

I fell over again tonight in my daughters bedroom, kids were worried [again]
Spoke to a community helpline [can't remember exactly] she's writing the appeal for me and has taken on the case.

Am going to take this all the way..

Hope you are all managing ok.
