I may be preempting things. I am 71 in May and been getting DLA since 1998. I get low rate care and high rate mobility which at the time was given for life. Apart from one paper assessment in approximately 2005 I have never been retested, and still receiving DLA. Based on yesterday’s welfare announcements which at the moment keeps referring to getting people back to work does anyone have any idea how the proposed changes will affect people like me who are a) Over pension age, and b) Still receiving DLA. Or will we have to wait for more detail.
Transfers from DLA to PIP have been halted for some time, and I don't think they were due to start again until 2028. I would try not to worry about it and just wait to see if there are any announcements. It's not going to be a priority for the DWP.
