Hi everyone,
I have a new PIP AR1 form to fill in. When I was transferred over from DLA to PIP 5 years ago I had to have a home assessment. I was hopeful that I had sent enough paper evidence for them to make a paper based decision but they wanted a home assessment done. After the fantastic advice I had been given on here I got through it and then asked for a copy of the Consultation report- PA4. One thing I have noticed in it is that a lot of my supporting evidence was undated and they wrote beside it in the PA4 form things such as GP letter undated, Consultants letter undated which they were as I have used them previously in my ESA form. My question is would I need dated letters now? As in up to date evidence. I do not have anything new as none of the GP’s do supporting letters any more. Has anyone any suggestions how to get round this? I am hoping to have a paper based assessment this time.
Thank you for any advice with this.
Jessica

Hi Tigerlily,
This is a tough one - I would maybe check if you have the NHS app or MyGP app ( set up an account ) to see when the letters were issued. They do normally tell you this, as mine have the dates on but without the letters dated on some of them.
Other than that, I'm not overly sure - but post approved, and hopefully someone can advise you in relation to this.
Good luck - Chris.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your reply and can I just apologise for posting my question twice as I wasn’t sure it went through the first time so please disregard it when it pops up again.
I am in Northern Ireland and have an app with my local health centre to order my repeat prescriptions. I can no longer request a GP appointment through this app since COVID lock downs. This app does not give any other information, just a list of your medications.
I am not sure what else to do. Hopefully someone has an idea as surely I cannot be the only person with no up to date letters of support.
Thank you again Chris for advice, it is much appreciated.

Hi Jessica,
Honestly - this is no problem at all - questions need to be reviewed by moderators first before being approved, so normally when a topic is spotted that has been re-posted - we just archive it, so it doesn't appear on the forum again. I myself done this a few times when I was new to the forum, before I joined the mods group.
I'm not sure about the rules in N.I - so maybe someone else may have to help with this, but I would honestly try the MyGP app - I lost my access to the NHS app after my pharmacy online closed, but I was able to re-open another NHS account via MyGP - and I can again now, re-order my subscriptions, view appointments I've attended, make appointments, and view blood test results for example.
I use an Android phone for this and it's a red background with the words myGP in white writing on the app if this helps - if you manage to install it, let me know, and I'll try help guide you through how to access and view things - however if it's with i-phone, then I'm not familiar with that type of phone unfortunately.
Chris.

Hi Chris,
Thank you so much for your help and understanding me posting the same question twice.
I tried to download the MyGP app but it said it did not work in Northern Ireland and to download Mycare app. I did this and the only thing that is on it is the correct name of my GP. No list of my medications, hospital appointments etc. It obviously is not widely used here.
I might just ask my specialist nurse, GP or consultant if they would be willing to write me a letter saying there is no change in my health since my last assessment in 2019 which there is not. God help anyone trying to get letters of support any more.
Thank you very much Chris for all your advice and trying to help, I really appreciate it.

Hi Jessica,
Sorry to hear that you didn't have any success with the app - maybe's like you said, that it's down to the location.
Maybes try Google and asking apps in Northern Ireland that show health records, and see if anything comes up.
Good luck!
Chris
