Mandatory Reconsideration. was created by Onyx123
Recieved a decision on the mandatory Reconsideration. I they didn't look at what I sent in. I think they looked at the review form only and ignored what I said. Award is the same Full care element and standard mobility. What to do next, do I take it to appeal or should I do a change of circumstances in the future. I don't want to be stuck in a long appeal process and the strees involved. PIP changing in the future and the and would be to dangerous to do a change of circumstance in the future.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Onyx123
I'm sorry that your MR was not successful. I can't tell you what you should do next. You have to go with your gut instinct and what feels right for you. You could always put in for an appeal online - and just give a couple of reasons. Then let it sit there - you can always add information up to two weeks before an appeal takes place or you can choose to withdraw. At least you would have it there if you decided later you wanted to. Having an appeal on the go does not stop you from putting in a change of circumstances in the future.

Thanks Bis,
How long do I have to put in an online appeal? And where do you find the appeal application.

Hi Onyx123
Take a look at the Guide to PIP Appeals, which will guide you through the process. If you do decide to lodge an appeal the most important thing is to do so within one month of the date on the Mandatory Reconsideration Notice.

Hi Bis,
One question on the appeal. If I apply via online will it be heard by paper or in person, or can you opt for a paper appeal or in person appeal.
