Changes in circumstances - still standard rate

Hello

After waiting just over 6 months, I finally have my decision letter. Despite my conditions having changed for the worse, I have been awarded standard rate on daily living and on mobility.

I took the PIP test on this site a while back which gave me enhanced on both. Looking at the decision report, I don't think they have fully taken into account everything I have said and the evidence I have supplied. For example, they suggested seeing an occupational therapist for help. Erm, already done that, she can do no more for me.

I'm going to ask for a re-determination and I could do with some help.

Hi Pendle,

Tell them that you would like to do a Mandatory Reconsideration based on the award, saying that you don't feel it is correct. When you get your report, make any adjustments to it that you feel impact your award and points score. You'll have another month I believe to do this.

Chris.

I've got 6 weeks to submit for a re-determination (Social Security Scotland's terminology). I've got a table with columns of what I said in my submission, what they said in the report and then a column for further information and corrections.
It's been six months since I submitted my change in circumstances and there have been noticeable further changes.
Are there people who can help with the re-determination? I want to make sure the wording is right.

thank you

Hi Pendle

I don't know whether there is a member who can advise you on what they wrote for their re-determination. Because it is relatively new, we haven't had that many members talking about it. The way you are setting up your argument sounds a clear way to do it. I would try not to worry about getting all the wording 'right' - there is generally no such thing. The main thing is to show how they are incorrect in their judgment, and you obviously have that sorted.

Best of luck with it.

Hi I work for CItizen Advice Bureau in Scotland and done numerous Adult Disability Redeterminations - sorry to be pedantic and to avoid confusion the equivalent of a Mandatory Reconsideration in Scotland is a Redetermination. Also there is no Assessment Report like PIP there is a Notice of Determination.

Anyway if you need help you can go to your local Citizen Advice Bureau and if you need more time for your REDETERMINATION you can call Social Security Scotland and tell them you need more time. You can also explain in Redetermination form they sent you why it is late.

Also you could consider requesting a Redetermination and do a Change of Circumstances but suggest in your redetermination you explain things have changed and when. Not sure what SSS would do with redetermination and Change Of Circumstances at same time.
