Work Search Commitments was created by jah
Hello,
I have a new work coach whom I saw for the first time today at my appointment this morning. They seemed quite feisty, and I got the impression that they are more interested in finding an excuse to sanction me in the future rather than actually helping me find work.
That being said, they said: “You need to treat this like a full-time job – 35 hours a week looking for work. For job applications that you just apply for, I expect you to apply for loads; for jobs that have multiple steps, I don’t expect you to apply for as many.”
Based on my commitments outlined below this text, could I be sanctioned at my next appointment in two weeks’ time for not applying for enough work? Seems pretty subjective, if you ask me.
“ Activities
I've agreed with my work coach that I'll:
Search and apply for all suitable vacancies by using job search sites and social media daily. This will improve my chances of finding paid work. I will provide evidence of my job searching at every appointment with my work coach.”
Kind regards
James

Hi Jah
Most people on this Forum have some health condition. May I ask if you do ? As it affects UC Conditionality.

Hello David,
Yes, I do have health issues that are recognised by my GP and other health professionals within the NHS, but the job centre have deemed me fit for some work that does not involve heavy lifting.
The Work Capability Assessment did not go well for me last summer. I’m unwell and not receiving the help I need, so I’m stuck in a cycle of poor health and being told I must find work.
Kind regards
James

Hi Jah
Have you been told by the Work Coach what are your Expected Hours of Work? It should be written in to your Claimant Commitment.

Here is a google docs link of my screenshotting my UC account options. Where can I find the expected hours of work?
