I am helping my disabled sister with her Migration from ESA to UC. I was just reading some posts in the forum about the New Style ESA which she will get as well and I've seen with dismay that she may have to deal with a phonecall from them about a claimant commitment for New Style ESA.
Is there any way that the claimant commitment for New Style ESA can be completed in writing as she really can't cope with phonecalls at all ? She has severe mental health issues and can't cope with phonecalls from anyone she doesn't know. Universal Credit are aware she has complex needs and she was in the Support group for the old ESA.
You sister should send a Journal message to the Work Coach stating that she gives you " explicit consent " to speak to the Jobcentre Work Coach about the New Style ESA. You can then take the phone call. Before the call ask your sister if she has written down the UC memorable information that the Work Coach may ask about and use as an excuse to be difficult.
