Challenging a PIP Review was created by anxious
Hi,

I just received a text from my pip review stating they had made their decision and to wait 2 weeks for the letter to arrive. I read here you can find your decision quicker by ringing the pip helpline as they tell you the next payment you will receive there and you can work out your award from that.

I checked and my payment is exactly the same, so I have to assume my letter will say my award is the same. I'm pretty disappointed in this as I stated in my review that I didn't agree with the previous decision of standard daily living rate and thought it should be enhanced and had provided thorough evidence as to why, including recent medical evidence.

I didn't get a phone call during this review process either apart from them asking me to resubmit medical evidence as they hadn't scanned it properly and couldn't read it, (which I did re send and rang to confirm it had arrived).

If I start a mandatory Reconsideration once my letter has arrived, how would I challenge the assessor given that I didn't do a phone interview this time. Do I still have to ring and ask for a copy of the assessors report? Also I'm a bit confused about the MR process from the guide, it recommends to fill out a CRMR1 form, but the appeals guide doesn't seem to tell you how to answer the questions on those forms ? Do I just fill them out in the boxes provided or is it like the pip form where its better to use additional sheets?

Appreciate any advice with this, thank you!

Hi anxious

Yes you start by contacting DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report called a PA3 as it sounds as though you had a paper assessment.
Once you get the report you will be able to see how you were marked. Go through the report and highlight any errors, especially if you can tie it in with any medical evidence you may have sent in.
If you use the CRMR1 form, you can add extra pages, make sure you number the extra pages and add your NI number to each page.
