Hi

My partner and I have recently found out what we are due to receive, having migrated from her ESA to UC, and we are somewhat upset at the figures.
I have read a little about the Transitional Element.
Are we supposed to have claimed this ?, or is it just applied ?, as we are a significant amount worse off than on Legacy Benefits.

Any advice would really help.

Hi rocco1504

TP should be automatic providing you received when you migrated from ESA to UC you were sent a migration letter from the DWP. Some claimants applied for UC after they received a letter from Tax Credits but this was not the migration letter and therefore they were not covered by TP.

Claimants in receipt of ESA and both disability premiums (SDP and EDP) will be worse off claiming UC without the TP.
